I’m an award-winning investigative journalist who currently writes for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Businessweek. I’m the author of EMPIRE OF ORGASM, a forthcoming book about OneTaste, a sexual wellness company that’s alleged to be a sex cult.

I'm also the host of two seasons of the podcast Foundering, a narrative audio series from Bloomberg Technology. One season recounts the rise and fall of WeWork; another chronicles the story of OpenAI and analyzes the trustworthiness of its leader, Sam Altman.

EMPIRE OF ORGASM is based on a 2018 investigation I wrote for Bloomberg Businessweek, which explored how the group's former employees and customers alleged it was a sex cult that exploited its members financially and sexually.

After that piece ran, the FBI started investigating OneTaste. In 2023, federal prosecutors indicted two OneTaste leaders, Nicole Daedone and Rachel Cherwitz, on forced labor conspiracy charges. In June 2025, a jury found Nicole and Rachel guilty; they’re currently in jail awaiting sentencing. My new book tells the definitive story of OneTaste for MCD x FSG, and it's available for pre-order now. It will be published November 18.

I was featured in a 2022 Netflix documentary about OneTaste called Orgasm, Inc. My reporting about OneTaste has been cited in the New York Times, the New Yorker, the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, and other outlets.

Before working at Bloomberg, I was a staff writer at Forbes and a crime reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle. In general, I hold a particular interest in writing about strange and complex subcultures. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
